What?
The Garage419 Invitational: A one-hour endurance karting event held at Grand Prix New York, the country's newest and most advanced indoor karting facility. (GPNY: http://www.gpny.com)

When?
Sunday, October 26th, 2008.
Event starts at 10:00am -- Qualifying at 12:00pm.
Race start at 12:30pm.

Who?
Twelve teams of two drivers each, one Garage 419 viewer matched with one "pro". Viewers will be selected from a pool of applicants based on their creative six-word description as to why they should attend the Invitational. If you get picked, you've got to get to the track on your own. Sorry, no limos or private jets. (Maybe next year) The twelve pros will be selected from professional racing teams, performance driving schools, automotive journalists, and other "hot shoes" from around the country.

Where?

Grand Prix New York
333 North Bedford Road
Mount Kisco, NY 10549

Why?
To challenge some of the best drivers in the country against viewers of Garage419, all in the name of charity. 100% of the proceeds from this event will benefit Racing 4 Research and the Children's Tumor Foundation. The goal of the foundation is to fund the Drug Discovery Initiative, which will increase the number of candidate drugs being tested to cure Neurofibromatosis (NF), a genetic disorder that is more common than cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, and Huntington's disease combined.

Entrants will race for free, but are encouraged to have friends and family pledge donations on a per-lap basis for their team. Teams can expect to complete between 50 and 70 laps during the race. Donations for the Racing4Research foundation will also be accepted throughout the entire event.

Every Tuesday, starting on July 29th, one new viewer will be selected from the applicant pool and will be announced on the Garage419 website and on the weekly debate show. The last driver to be selected will be on October 13th, two weeks before the Invitational.

The event will be free of charge to drivers, but transportation will not be provided to Grand Prix New York
