The Garage

Car enthusiasts do their own research through the forums, blogs, and magazines. Garage419 isn't here to be the source of car information like CNN is for current events. Debates, biased reviews, and straight forward interviews are just some of the things to expect on '419.

Good stuff guys! First time visiting your site. The line about the GTR looking like a "pig in a prom dress" had me on the floor. So true...

I'm going to have to disagree with you guys on the GT-R. I think its fabulous.

It may be a culture/age thing as my boss is impressed with what it can do, but not so much its looks. It seems that if you're not too familiar with Japanese culture, aren't techno-savvy AND you are over 30, you are not going to dig it. Too me, the car looks like a weapon or a highly technological device made with very specific goals in mind. And we already know what those goals are as the GT-R beat the 911 and the 'Vette by 5 seconds.

One of the engineers of the GT-R (his name escapes me) has said the look of the car was inspired by the giant robots in the Japanese anime, "Gundam". I'd say that's about right. This car looks like its more likely to transform into a giant robot than a Camaro does.

I WANT TO SEE THE JAY LENO EPISODE!!!

Max Mosley is my man of the week :D

I disagree with Mr. Angry. Nissan GTR is stunning. It doesn't have the looks of supercar like Porsche and Ferrari. But look at both of these cars. Did the looks change in the past several years. The answer is no. They are boring despite that they are called supercar.

Nissan GTR is different, cheaper and beat the crap out of everyone. Mr. Angry should grow up.

Saying BMW 1 series is "hot-rod" is double-standard. Which part of the 1 series is stunning? It looks like a "Pig" with a wanna-be sub-sport car, expensive.

Mr. Angry should look in the mirror and look who's uglier.

Relax Sally... it seems as though you've got your panties in a twist over this. The GTR is an ugly car... period.

Now go back to playing xbox, have a Coke and smile and be done with it.

Not letting someone in a country for having a whicked hooker party is rediculous! That guy is invited to my birthday party for sure.

i think the gt-r is a work of art and i think matt farah should do an episode where he visits a f1 grand prix like monte carlo

Well max screwed up but that is obvious, everyone knows you don't video tape sex acts unless you want other people to see them in this day and age. As far as the GTR come for seventy grand what can you expect Aston Martin styling. The Bmw 1 is for my money one of the most hideous looking things to come from Germany since Nazi hookers. But that is just my point of view
  • NYMC001 wrote on April 8, 1:49 pm:
FYI....Max Mosely's Father was the Founder/Leader of the Facist Party in England during WWII...he was a staunch supporter of Hitler...so the apple does not fall far from the tree...lol...that aside...GTR is an amazing car with some sick performance numbers....but I agree the car seems cold...from an aesthetics point of view a 350Z with a body kit.
The 1 series is a nice car in 135 trim...that tt is very very quick...but a stretch at 50k....sorry I'll pass.
    Oil in trees???....no comment
Shelby??.....the Magic of Mr. Shelby ended LOOOONNNG ago....licensing his name to everything short of underwear is a damn same.
    Nice show guys...

Well, well, well, finally get to talk abot the GTR on 419, well, the R35 GTR and i have a love hate relationship, on the one hand i've always loved the look and performance of the GTR, and this one takes it to a whole new level on both accounts, and therefore i love this one as well. but on the other hand the R35 did the only thing that could make me hate a sports car....its automatic. anyone that knows me or has read anything i have to say about any fast/sports/hyper car that doesnt have a stick shift option, knows where i stand on that. i think in order to be a real mans car it has to be stick, dont care if the automatic is a semiautomatic/tiptronic/paddle shift, whateva, whether it can make shifts in 1/10th's of a sec. or what, i dont care, cuz for starters the only ppl that really have that system down, is ferrari and a few others, secondly theres nothing like pushing down the clutch and shifting into gear or down shifting or heal-toeing, and so on and so on. all i need is for there to be a stick shift option cuz i dont like automatics. i feel less involved in the mechanic's and the dive of the car. i need the thrid paddle period. any 5 year old can drive an automatic car, so until the GTR gets i stick shift, i dont wanna here it. as for the looks of the GTR, i rather like it, i think ur missing the point for that car, essentially the GTR is the ultimate factory tunner car, the point of tunners as i'm sure we all know, is to take a let say $5000, spend i dont know $10,000 and be able to spank 50,000 cars. looks dont really matter, infact the more sleeper like the better. its not suppose to look like a ferrari cuz its not, its a ferrari killer, "understated" and low key, sleeper if u will, lets say i know nothing about cars, i c a GTR and a 911 pull up, automictally my money would be on the 911 cuz it looks like it built to go fast as opposed to the GTR. that being said i still like the look of the GTR, just hope that the spec-v comes with a stick shift option, then i can go get mine. 1 tii, well i'll have to agree with Mr.Angry, i'm pretty sure it would cost me much less to get a "base" model 1 series, strip it, tweak the suspention, add whateva other mods i want, then paint it to look like the Tii, than get a tii from the factory. {only draw back if really it is is factory cars came with a warranty and the sec u pull anything from the car u've fuck'd urself. lol. all i have to say about the Max Mosely, is too funny, could stop laughing at how ironic the whole thing was. and as far as Bahrain goes, its def, not America, things like that r'nt tolarated there, cuz of their religion. good show. cant wait to c the Jay leno show.
  • supramike wrote on April 8, 3:25 pm:
totally agree with John R (guest) by the way, i think he put what i just said pretty well.
  • John (guest) wrote on April 8, 5:36 pm:
The GTR is sweet nonetheless, but I it is not a driver's car. For that reason, it does not get all of respect. I waited 16 years to drive a car, God knows how long to afford 70,000 dollars...I believe that I would at least have to enjoy my car beyond pushing the pedal to the floor and being done with it.
  • Colleptic wrote on April 8, 8:43 pm:
I do not mind the GTR at all; it looks like a...machine! Yes there are prettier, or sexier cars out there, but really it looks robotic-cool.

Furthermore, I think it is time for everyone to make sex videos! Personally, I will be dressed as a Canadian Mounty surrounded by beaver…lots of beaver, screaming at a girls dressed as hockey referees! It will be hot!
  • MattF NYMC (guest) wrote in reply on April 9, 11:13 am:
I'll have my girls dressed like scientists and smashing riced out Hondas with sledgehammers while screaming, "Un-pimp ze auto!"

    Hey guys,

I thought that the Max Mosley stuff is funny but why did have to pay £5000 tohae his ass whipped when anyone at Mclaren would do it gratis. As a fellow Brit though I can say he is a disgrace!

I was lucky enough to be at Bedford Autodrome in the U.K for a track test that a mag was doing on the GT. Yeah it went like hell but sounded like a Dyson Vacuum and I could not believe how big and clumsy it looked. Was pitted against a 911 GT3. Would love a 135i but with U.K fuel prces I guess it will have to be the 123d version 2.0 twin turbo diesel 0-60 in 6.5 150mph 201 bhp and 50mpg.

GT-R is pure sex as far as looks go. I never agreed with this until I saw the GT-R but now Ferraris are officially "girly".
