The Garage

Car enthusiasts do their own research through the forums, blogs, and magazines. Garage419 isn't here to be the source of car information like CNN is for current events. Debates, biased reviews, and straight forward interviews are just some of the things to expect on '419.

Wel all I can say to the Nick Hogan thing is that he's na dumb asshole!! And the only one whose fault this was is Nick Hogans because he is an ADULT and an ADULT should know what can happen if you screw it up when you are streetracing! btw. he could have killed his friend also in a Honda Civic.

nick is a fucking tool and a dumb ass, from day one, i'd said that kid is gonna wreck that supra. i saw the episode where he put the viper in the wall, i mean really... "dad i think i wanna get into drifting" then next thing u know his dad pulls some strings and he's in a viper of all cars. as for the supra, well i saw that thing and he and his friend r lucky to be alive. as far as the law suit goes, i dont know how these things work, howeva i figure he's not 15 anymore even tho thats when he first got the supra and by the way, if u've had a car for what???? 3 or 4 years u should know not only ur car but ur limits, so the fact that he wreck that shit show's how bad and stupid for a driver { "tunner"/ "street racer"} he is. what a fucking tool i hate when rich kids get fast cars and wreck em, it pisses me off soooo much. and a supra for that matta. LAME!!!! F1LM. well what can i say here except, i hope he wins. smart four/two totally agree with u guys, not worth the money to me, howeva i saw something interesting on utube where they were doing some sort of convertion with a R1 motor from the bike or something and i have to say that look'd like fun. one word go-kart. p.s. couldnt stop laughing when u guys kept saying TaTa. hahahhahahaha

When does it end when you are old enough to make life choices for yourself you are responsible for your self. That being said was giving a six hundred plus horsepower car to a young "Adult" the best Idea, maybe not but none of us are truly responsible for the actions of others. AS for the sale of Ford's Luxury brands I believe that it was for the best I have always had a soft spot in my heart for the old gal but that wasn't really a match made in heaven. Hopefully everyone will come out ahead

Please have more discussions like that. Maybe even have them be longer.

I would absolutely love to listen to discussions like this on my commute to work. You give this show so much credibility.

Another thing would be visit more "tuners" like the Porsche Cayman tuner.

I strongly suggest being at the Monterey Car Auction week in August, and at the Concours d' Elegance.

Show some footage from road rally's or MINI Takes the States type events.

    Show more MINI Coopers.

Show alternative electric cars from a CAR GUY's perspective. Not from a treehugging view. Shot Tesla's, Apteras, ZAP's.

Show some German classic cars. Manta, Opel GT, British classic cars, cars we haven't heard of yet.

Interview Jay Leno make a few episodes out of it.

Drive some more near exotics (under $200k) like you did before. Show the Audi R8.

Give more insight in your shows, keep them longer and interesting. This is not "short attention span Fast Lane daily".

Show some forgotten American cars and show them in a cool light. Pontiac Fiero, AMC Gremlin, with engine swaps, etc.

Have a discussion of the best '80's car that will be remembered. You know how we now worship the '60's, and '70's cars. Which cars do you predict will we worship from the '80's? How about '90's (Supra, maybe?) It would be an interesting discussion.

Maybe have discussions involving 3 people.

Have a car guy discussions with people like Jay Leno, Jerry Seinfeld, Elon Musk, Richard Branson, Richard Hammond, Jeremy Clarkson, etc.

Discuss the U.S. version of Top Gear. What you think of it, etc.

New version of Knight rider, Batman begins.

What do you think of the "Tumbler" if it were a real car?

Discuss various aftermarket options and stories around them: Brakes, wheels, engine upgrades. - History of them, what you think about them from a big picture perspective, things that interest you, etc.

Your biggest asset is the great amount of credibility you have. Use that to your advantage. :)

    K.
I'm out of ideas, hopefully there are some great nuggets in there for you.

Maybe host the show 3 times a week instead of 2.

    Oh, I know..

Talk about why there aren't any "affordable" mid-engined cars available anymore.

Cars in the under $35k range.
Fiat X 1/9, Porsche 924, Pontiac Fiero, Toyota Mr-2, etc.

Cheapest one is a Porsche Boxter, IIRC.
The good ones start with the Porsche Cayman.

Now with traction control and the like, don't we have the technology to protect cars from their drivers?

Email my at the above email address and I'll flesh out some more ideas for you.

Oh, don't forget to show up to Carisle. It's a car show on the east coast somewhere. Sorry, I don't know much about it as I live in California.

The "car guy" thing w/ regards to Nick Hogan... There is one thing to be a car guy it's another to be able to drive well. He has a history of wrecking cars and it was flat stupid for Hulk to put him in a car like that, especially at 17. Of course the mindset is different when there are videos on Youtube of Hulk racing on public streets with his tuned Supra. Doesn't look like his parental lessons are working...

Farah and Postfather Debate El Camino, Smart, and the Hulk - Garage419

Today on Garage419 Matt Farah and Mike Spinelli debate the finer points of the new Pontiac "El Camino", McLaren's offer to Hamilton, Tata's purchase of Jaguar and Land Rover, the Smart Fortwo, and the Hulk sized lawsuit.
