The Garage

Car enthusiasts do their own research through the forums, blogs, and magazines. Garage419 isn't here to be the source of car information like CNN is for current events. Debates, biased reviews, and straight forward interviews are just some of the things to expect on '419.

That was dope. But I'm slightly confused when they said the cars were heavily restricted and then only to hear how powerful and capable they were in racing form.

Yeah, I don't really get it either. These are pretty much stock street vehicles with the interior striped, roll bar & fire extinguisher installed. C'est tout! Hardly what I would call a 'race car'.

And wow, what a sound. Who's running their electric shaver? Pretty anti-climactic i must say. Sorry but there is so much interesting automotive NEWS going on right now with the shows & all, why waste time with this 'stuff'?

And Chris, Im curious what cars you DO support? What car you drive? Do you know what % foreign content is & where the parts are sourced? Many Fords have 80% foreign content, while 'ricer' Honda's contain > 80% local content AND are assembled locally probably even employing many friends & family in your local comunity.

92 240sx with sr all Japanese except the UK made Samco rad hoses, and US made 1pc drive shaft, clutch. I like German cars, so the GTI is realy made in Germany but the stock golf/bug/jetta are Mexican built? Some one gave me a ride in a new Jetta and the ride was so horrible I was looking forward to geting back into the work truck!

It is weird to think that all cars manufactured in the U.S. gather their parts mostly from asia. They are merely 'assembled' in the U.S. which means cars manufactured in Mexico are really not that different than U.S. 'assembled' cars. As far as your experience in a jetta, don't know what to say, but I find it hard to beleive a car as popular as a jetta would have such a harsh ride. As far as your 240sx, I guess you can't handle a V8.
