The Garage

Car enthusiasts do their own research through the forums, blogs, and magazines. Garage419 isn't here to be the source of car information like CNN is for current events. Debates, biased reviews, and straight forward interviews are just some of the things to expect on '419.

Best show so far. Totally informative and to the point and Roger Garbow was a great guest. Please continue down this road and you guys will have a real winner here.

I agree with what you said about F1, Matt. We're almost to the point with engine technology that we might be grazing the outer limits of ability of a human being to control an F1 car. I also agree with Garbo - pull out some of the electronic assistance systems and see who's really a good driver and who is helped along by computers. It shouldn't be a blood sport but in the old days it was more on the drivers to perform than just the car. This could also give stragglers like Toyota or Super Aguri a better shot at the likes of Mclaren and Ferrari.

However, that said, I still think the cap on engine technology is a bit odd, especially for 10 years. However, again with what Matt said, I think other technologies need to be focused on.

? A LOT of F1 technology has filtered to economy cars?

What kind a wacky tabaki he smokin?

I beg to differ but actually turbos owe their popularity more to aviation recycling the exhaust gases than F1.

When did F1 last use Turbo? 18something BC?

Enzo, McLaren, yeah, they're on every corner, NOT.

Fact is, very little F1 trickles to economy cars. However, thats what I love about Rally Racing. There is way more trickle down technology from race to street. Thank you EVO & WRX!

its is called the " Ariel Atom "

its called the " Ariel Atom " ..." Its Honda engine, taken over from Civic Type-R, is supplemented by mechanical supercharger which provides 300 hp. Having in mind that Atom weighs only 456 kilograms, its acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in 2.9 seconds is not surprising". lol yea stupid fast!!!

Actually, the car I was referring to is the Tango (http://www.commutercars.com/). It is a tandem 2-seater commuter car that does 0-60 in 4 seconds.
And thanks for the positive comments. I enjoyed doing the show. Great bunch of guys over at Garage 419.

E85 is a smart move right now. It's a nice temporary fix and it's a greeeeat performance fuel. It can have high octane ratings for those race engines. I just wish they would make consumer performance E85 bsed vehicles. Just imagine the ZR1 running on E85 with a 100 octane rating. It would be awesome.

    Hey Matt,
The Narrow car Garbow mentioned is the Tango. Check it out at http://www.commutercars.com/

Thanks Eduardo, I'll look into it!

I believe the narrow car is the electric variant of the Ariel Atom called the Wrightspeed X-1. You can look it up on youtube. It's sick fast!!!!!!

Great show. I'd be tempted to get a Cayman GTR over a Carrera 4 if I was in the market.
