i see where you come from about you being safe in new high end sports car but what about the mom in the old minivan how safe will she be when you crash into her going 110

but limits imo should be in the 80's so when everyone is doing that speed its not as dangerous
  • JF (anon) wrote on November 29, 9:02 pm:
Speeding in Wyoming on I-80 is a lot different then speeding in New Jersey on the Turnpike. So many different variables.

i agree with farah's point regarding street racing, but then again, i've never done it... legally :)

WOW What a Great Show and there is nothing like this in the Automotive World Today. Garage 419 is a Trend setter. Look forward to future episodes gentlemen.

Dino's are ligit.. but there not Ferrari's. Either way, I'm excited to see what roles out in the end.

Lambo SUV... really? Why?! What a waste of materials. IM crying!

I think Porsche's Panamera is sick! Common.. ugliest car EVER? thats quite a statement.. i'd gladly give you a handfull of MUCH uglier cars than the Panamera!!

Porsche Mini... I'd buy one. Plane and simple!
Porsche Golf.. ehhh..not so much. It would HAVE to be a Mini competiter!

Deloreans allllll the way!!! I want to build a track day version, with a cage, super wide fenders, fat tires, racing seats, drop an LS7 in it. Mmmmmm

I agree on raising the speed limit, and as JF said it really depends on where its at though. Why isn't there a Autobahn-esch highway straight across the US. That would be so sweet.

i really have to agree with you on the lambo SUV man, lambo just needs to stick with their cars i mean it just looks soo goofy looking well not unless they somehow stick an lp640 or something i might just have a change of heart, but at the same time they just need to stick with their normal cars SUV is not what i think they are good at making especially after seeing it looks like even though its in concept form. About the Panamera i just think its one hell of a nice car man i mean yeah the ugliest car is one big statement but still its really nice and i guess porsche is trying to go to a different direction and trying to show off mercedes s classes masaretis quattroportes that they can do it too. Finally about the Doloreans i just hope they out with a bang im hoping also they put maybe a ls7 motor in it or something because cmon now you cant put some old crappy motor in a car thats going to be over 60,000 bucs.

some highways should have no limit lanes, and it should take a special license to drive in them. I'm sure this has been discussed ad nosiem in government meetings. Maybe the insurance company's and 21st mommy police are afraid to give Americans this much freedom behind the wheel.

the show has potential. next time you debate get a moderator.

Yawn. You guys do this every day?
  • NYMC001 wrote on November 30, 12:30 am:
Nice first run....but you guys are SOOO off point..LOl
    Ferrari Dino..IS an F-Car named after Enzo's son...Great Car!!
Lambo SUV...HELL YES!!...and they better put an LP640 block in it...makes perfect sense!...Porsche sales were up 17% from last year and the US market is the largest...and guess what was the horse pulling the cart...go ahead...say it..CAYENNE..the SUV led all sales.
Delorean:...Matt what can I say...Your NUTS!....car should be used as a paperweight...the only good thing is that it is SS.
Street Racing...thumbs down....take your need for speed to a track...there are plenty out there...quite frankly it is more about the drivers than the cars....todays sports cars FAR EXCEED the driving ability of the majority of the people who buy them...spend money on a driving school!!
    Soooo...whens the next show??
    Good Job Guys!

ferrari dino, hmm i'm kinda spilt, if we're gonna get a quality car that's averge joe priced, then i think it should be done, at the same time, a part of owning a Ferrari is knowing not just anyone can say they have one, so i guess it would kinda suck in that regared, but c'n as i fall under the category of guys that dont and prob wont own one of those for at least while, i say make it so, just dont half ass it. Lamborghini should stick to what they do best, no suv's plz. Matt i think ur gonna change ur mind when u c the final product for the Porsche Panamera, i dont wanna pass jugdement till i at least c that thing in person. i said this a million and one times, Porsche already did the "unthinkable" when they went the SUV route so a 4 door isnt that cazy, they just might jst be able to pull it off. street racing, well firstly i think every car guy at some point or the other has street raced before, so i dont know if this really something to talk about, infact i bet u anything if u were going down the road in ur....lets say z06 and i came past u in my supra u couldnt help but case me down, especailly if before i went zooming by i was Briefly side by side with u and we made eye contact, its a natural guy reaction. anyways i completely agree with Matt. anytime my friends and i get into this topic i always make the same agruement he just did. i like the show, it can only get better.
  • voytech wrote on November 30, 8:48 am:
It shouldn't be a case of "I have a fast car that's safer that your ordinary minivan, so let me go faster". It should be about better drivers. The US driver's license test is a joke. A JOKE. Go anywhere in Europe. I can tell you that about 40% of new drivers fail the exam one or two times before they get the license. That should tell you a bit about how hard they're being trained.

There are some Ferrari Purists who don't consider V8s to be true Ferraris. They certainly wouldn't condider the DINO, which by definition has to be a 6 cylinder.

With the new Formula 1 8 cylinders driving technology, a Ferrari V8 can't be denied by any means.

I'm not a purist, but I believe the DINO is a bad idea and pre owned Ferrari's should still remain the entry level Ferrari.

Great show, great concept and I look forward to seeing more Mike and Matt.
  • loneshark wrote on November 30, 3:12 pm:
Ferrari Dino, like it, but Id rather have a 1968 Ferrari Dino, it has always been Ferrari's mass produced, entry level, money maker.
Lambo SUV, garbage, Lambos have to sell their cars to pay for their race team, are they getting into Baha ? hmmm.
Porsche Panamera, uh.. still but fugly. no further comment.
Delorean, what a waste, just leave the name as is, and the car as well.
Street Racing, love it, do it every chance I get, I love cops, just hate getting pulled over by them, whats wrong with blocking off a road and running some Hondas ? ya gotta train somewhere to make into the bigs !

great first show !! congratulations !

with some more tweaks on topic delivery, this is gonna be a fun show !

Deloreans with 2000 miles are extremely rare. Sure, there are a ton advertised as such, but what they neglect to mention is that the speedometer cables are notorious for breaking, and since most cars have only had 1 or 2 owners, the DMV doesn't get suspicious about the car not gaining mileage over the years. The majority of those 2000 mile cars have over 30000 miles, not to mention that the whole car is a piece of crap (a friend had a really mint early 81, and even with DMC Houston's stage 2 motor upgrade, it was slow and just a crappy car).

As far as Ferrari, Porsche, and Lamborghini, I'll reserve judgement until I see it.

Street racing is a problem because stupid upper middle class kids who think they are "hood" buy Civics, put a fart can on, then think they drive the fastest car in the world. These kids then drive their car like they have the fastest car in the world and end up killing people. The Fast and the Furious has totally fucked up modern car culture so badly it's not even funny. I'm going to stop right now because if I keep going I might just go postal on a Honda product.

i know you guys are lookin for constructive criticism...so here it is, first off you need people who actually know alot about cars, i dont mean to bash on matt and mike, and im sure they both know abit about cars, but there people who actually know obscene amouts about cars and can make REAL arguments/comments about concept cars, rumors ect, for example, matt says he likes the delorean, and than mike rattles off the engine specs, there is SO MUCH MORE to that car, i also found the dino arguments to be stupid... next i like your formatting idea, but the way your doing it, it seems a little to professional because i think it made matt and mike try to hard, not to bash on the guys again, but they were trying to hard, instead (if i were u) id go with a more relaxed setting, few guys sitting on a couch, smokin some cigars, drinkin beers, talkin about cars... and when people get more confortable on screen upgrade to something like what youve got now....

I'm not trying to be an asshole, just help the process a lil...i plan to keep watching, i think this show has alot of potential, dont get discouraged!!

Like the idea for the show, hate the design of this website- who designed this thing? Logo looks like dung? Anyways keep the content up to date and let the arguments begin. This show will take off nicely. Of course special guests from throughout the auto industry will make this show very interesting.
  • Rorschach wrote on December 1, 1:51 pm:
Dino? Sure, whatever, I still won't be able to afford one, and it will still be faster than my car.
New LM002? Sure, as long as it's still a boxy monstrosity. And if it goes 200MPH.
Panamera? Hey, if anyone can do a super-exclusive luxo-sedan and do it right, it's Porsche. Maybe the second generation won't be so icky looking.
DeLorean? I saw an "Old" DMC-12 driving around last night and I cracked up. Give it an engine worth 60 grand and they're golden.
Speed limits on highways are pretty stupid, and I'll just leave it at that.
  • Nick Holla wrote on December 1, 6:20 pm:
Our govt puts a lot of responsibility for safety on the manufacturers. This drives the cost up for the consumer. This adds weight, and uses more fuel. If we approached it like Germany, our drivers wouldn't eligible until they were 18, and it would be more challenging to obtain a license. So, now we are weeding out the bad drivers, or forcing them to shape up and the safety equipment is no longer needed. And good drivers don't have to deal with dumb asses on the road.

Can't we all just get along? - Seriously guys great show! We need a forum to discuss topics such as these!

    Keep it up!!!
  • Tom (anon) wrote on December 3, 4:38 pm:
That was fairly interesting however I wish these guys knew more facts. Mike Spinelli doesn't seem to have any real knowledge and is unable to back up anything that he says. He just tries to disagree with Matt to make things interesting. If your going to do something like this at least make sure that what they are saying is factual and not just some wanna be motorheads shooting shit in their livingrooms while playing GT on PS3.

So, after many a beer, we sat around and decided that the internet world was lacking an automotive version of Siskel & Ebert? Were you both really such great fans of that show? I sincerely wish you the best of luck.

McLaughlin group? That works because they take the most talented, well educated, well informed people in their field & place the most current & important global & political issues to them.

Having said that, now that all the congratulations have been done, perhaps we can help with future shows?

What do I want to see? Auto News, Information, Concepts, Prototypes. Everyone has an opinion & thats what pubs are for.

Dino? SOOO much $ for a 6 cylinder & so little power?
I duno. Im sure a base model vette would kick its Modena butt.

Re. Lambo SUV? Pure sports car builders (Fer, Lambo, Lotus) must remain pure to their DNA. As soon as they deviate, they will loose the foundation on which they were built. Fer can have Maserati or Alfa badge it as a Special Edition SUV.

Delorean - I would love to see a Mid-engine LS-X in there with upgraded brakes & suspension! Where do I sign?

Porsche Pana? Don't knock it til you try it. All the harsh comments could very well kill any future products in the pipeline from any other manufacturer.

Street Racing? Dont do it! [Excessively] Just look at Nick Hogan. Its a matter of seriously injuring: 1. Yourself 2. Your passengers 3. The other vehicles you collide with 4. Their passengers 5. Any other pedestrians.

Car & Driver once had an article from an Emergency Ambulance driver from Germany who wrote that although there were fewer accidents per capita compared to the US, the results were almost always fatal! Think about it. Speed must always be respected at all times.

I attended a conference with the FIA where they were promoting traction control to reduce young driver fatalities. Is it not a poor carpenter who blames their tools?

I could not agree with you more when you say that a race licence should be mandatory. I envision a 3 stage licence where after stage 3 having completed advanced driving & racing licences, insurance companies waive huge discounts thereby encouraging the majority of the population to obtain level 3. Thank you.

Lets put it this way two drivers licences one for City drivin the other for Highway drivin, I'm not saying its the anser just that most drivers can't cut it at speed kinda like most drivers can't slow down at school zones just saying??
  • Mercator wrote on December 26, 7:49 pm:
New Dino is a ripoff of the Cayman looks-wise. Entry level Ferrari is wrong. Old Dino, cool now, but a sign of the early 70's transition from cool to crappy.
    Lambo SUV - hell no.
    Panamera - HELL NO
Porsche Mini - only if it is a BMW M coupe killer
    Delorean - JOKE
Street Racing - OK so the cars are better, but the people are still idiots. Joe nosepicker doing 90 scares the hell out of me.
