The Strategy of Blackjack for the game with a joker

August 30th, 2010 by admin

The basic Blackjack strategy is an algorithm which is based on a choice of an optimum strategy of the game depending on cards being on hands of the player and an open card of the dealer. The base strategy takes into consideration probabilities of reception by the dealer of an excess, the probability of an excess by the player, probability of reception of a better, than by the dealer of a combination of cards

The basic BJ strategy comprises more than 25 years of searches, experiments, practical game, the analysis and modeling by the computer. In a definitive variant it is rather simple and does not demand storing of the cards which have left in the game. Attention! The result of the application of the base strategy will be obvious only on a long time interval – from 200 to 500 and more bets.

Let’s consider substantive provisions of the base strategy for BJ game with a joker.

The joker is an additional card which is added to incorporated packs. If the player has received a joker, than irrespective of its other cards, the sum of its points is considered equal to 21. The presence of a joker naturally influences the base strategy, however this influence variously at different stages of the game. At the beginning of the game the probability to receive a joker is very small (1 to 313, that is theoretically you can receive a joker in the game beginning once in 313 delivery of cards), therefore base strategy practically does not differ from strategy of game without a joker. The more cards leave the game, more probably is to receive a joker, for example at an exit from game of one pack – 1 to 261, two – 1 to 209, three – 1 to 157, four – 1 to 105, five – 1 to 53, therefore, the more the probability to receive a joker the more aggressive should be your strategy of the game.

The changes of the base strategy at the beginning of the game:

- hit a card, if you have from 12 points and the dealer has 4;

- hit a card, if you have from 5 points and the dealer has an as;

- Double the bet, if you have 4 and an as, and the dealer has 4;

- Double the bet, if you have 7 and an as, and the dealer has 2.

The changes of the base strategy at an exit from the game of two packs:

If two packs left game, it is necessary to add the following changes:

- Divide two two, if the dealer has 8;

- Divide two three, if the dealer has 8.

The changes of the base strategy at an exit from the game of three and more packs:

At an exit from the game of three and more packs to existing changes it is necessary to add the following ones:

- hit a card, if you have from 14 points, and the dealer has 10;

- hit a card, if you have from 6 points, and the dealer has an as;

- hit a card, if you have from 16 points, and the dealer has 9;

- hit a card, if you have from 5 points, and the dealer has an as;

- Divide two seven, if the dealer has 8;

- Double the bet, if you have 6 and an as, and the dealer has 2.

Besides, experts advise the following:

- Never to do the bet on blackjack, except for the offer of payment of a prize 20 to 1;

- Never to do the bet on the seven, except for the offer of payment of a prize 12 to 1 for the first seven, 175 to 1 for the second and 2476 to 1 behind third. If the prize is paid only for one-colored seven, do this bet, only if the payment of the prize is 12 to 1 for the first seven, 808 to 1 for the second and 62667 to 1 behind third is offered to you.

- Never to do the over – under bet if you do not keep count of cards.
